Mexico City: sex trafficking crackdown divides rights groups Subscribe to the Guardian HERE: http://bitly.com/UvkFpD Thousands of women are trafficked into the Mexico City sex trade each year, according to NGO estimates. As part of a crackdown, the authorities have raided clubs and brothels across the sprawling metropolis. The official response has polarised rights groups amid concerns that all sex workers, not just trafficking victims, are being targeted and punished. Prostitution is legal in Mexico, but most states regulate the industry, requiring sex workers to be registered and at least 18 years old. Yet, as one woman's account of how she was tricked into the trade suggests, there is an urgent need for decisive action. Click for full Guardian article: http://www.theguardian.com/glob...

From Juarez, to the White House – this is US – Mexico trade at a Crossroads. Let’s go inside! In 2016, the United States and Mexico traded over half a trillion dollars in goods. The US is by far Mexico's top trading partner, and Mexico is in the US's top three, behind China, and just behind Canada. It’s a relationship that has deeply influenced the economies of both partners, and has emerged as a line of scrimmage in the international debate on globalization. Who are the winners? Who are the losers? How can it be improved. This documentary by Samuel George, shot on location in Oaxaca, Ciudad Juarez, Mexico City, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington, DC dives inside these issues.
